Animals and People doesn’t pretend to have answers as to how to consider relationships that include love, servitude, and consummation—yet it’s impossible to consider these beautiful and smart essays without chewing on enlightening perspectives and taking them in. Some of Orion’s best writers offer beautiful and thoughtful prose. I read it on a train, and the traveling time was well spent.
